
Sylvia “QueenArrow” Gathoni is an esports athlete and content creator from Kenya. Her game of specialization is Tekken 8. Her professional career began in 2017 at the East African Gaming Convention, which saw her take a 4th place finish in the Mortal Kombat XL tournament. In 2018, she made the transition to Tekken 7 which was the start of her esports career in Tekken. Since then, she has had many accolades that have cemented her place as one of the most recognizable esports athletes not just in Kenya, but in the African region such as being featured in the Forbes 30 Under 30 list, the Business Daily Top 40 Under 40 list and a gold medalist at the inaugural CANOC Esports Series. She has also made multiple Top 8 and Top 3 finishes, cementing her position as one of the top Tekken players in Kenya. Moreover, she is the first Kenyan Red Bull Athlete of any profession.
Since she began her career, she has also ventured into tournament organization that is grassroots and targeted towards women and other marginalized communities in gaming and esports with the objective of offering a starting point and a safe space for these communities to start competing and eventually, become integrated as part of the open tournaments.
Outside of being an esports athlete and content creator, she is also a law graduate currently pursuing her post-graduate diploma at the Kenya School of Law.
